Lawyer Seeks Interpol Red Notice for Libra Founder Hayden Davis: Report

Attorney Gregorio Dalbon highlighted the procedural risk of U.S. citizen Hayden Davis evading authorities due to his financial resources and ability to remain in hiding.
Key Points:
- An Argentine lawyer has requested an international arrest order for Hayden Davis, the founder of the LIBRA memecoin.
- The request seeks an Interpol red notice to locate and arrest Davis.
- LIBRA memecoin surged to a $4.4 billion market cap before crashing over 95% last month.
An Argentine lawyer has petitioned for an international arrest warrant against Hayden Davis, the founder of the LIBRA memecoin, Buenos Aires newspaper Página 12 reported Thursday.
Attorney Gregorio Dalbon cited concerns that Davis, a U.S. citizen, could evade capture due to his financial resources and ability to remain in hiding, the report stated.
The lawyer therefore requested that "the international arrest of Davis be ordered and that an Interpol red notice be issued in order to locate and arrest him, with a view to his extradition," in a presentation to Argentine courts.
The LIBRA memecoin rose to a $4.4 billion market cap before plunging more than 95% last month. It had been promoted by Argentine President Javier Milei in a now-deleted tweet.
The president later reversed his support for LIBRA, stating that he had been unaware of the project's details and chose to stop promoting it once he gained a clearer understanding.
According to research by Nansen, LIBRA's collapse resulted in an estimated $251 million in investor losses.
