A mysterious crypto trader who amassed millions through derivatives trading this year has been identified as William Parker, a convicted fraudster, according to blockchain investigator ZachXBT.

Parker reportedly made $6.8 million by going long on Bitcoin (BTC) just before Donald Trump’s weekend announcement of a U.S. strategic crypto reserve. Shortly after, he shorted BTC, profiting another $9 million as the price surge quickly reversed.

All of Parker’s positions were placed using 50x leverage, a high-risk strategy that brings the liquidation price dangerously close to the entry point.

It appears that high-stakes gambling was a hallmark of Parker’s activity, as on-chain data links his wallet to crypto-based online casinos, including Roobet, Gamdom, Shuffle, BC Game, and Metawin.

Blockchain investigator ZachXBT uncovered that the wallet tied to Parker's trades was also set as the drainer fee receiver on a phishing website in January, receiving $17.1K from a victim that same month.

The investigation then traced a Solana wallet that was the first to interact with Parker’s trading wallet. This SOL wallet withdrew funds from four crypto casinos following an input validation exploit on a casino game. Upon reaching out to these casinos, ZachXBT obtained a Telegram account linked to the user.

Further analysis revealed that the trader was active on-chain at the same time as posting in derivatives trading Telegram chats, confirming his identity.

Taking the investigation even further, ZachXBT discovered a payment sent by the trader to an unidentified recipient on the HyperLiquid exchange. This transaction ultimately led to the uncovering of a phone number linked to William Parker.

Parker was convicted in Finland last year and sentenced to 2.5 years in prison for stealing $1 million from two casinos in 2023. He also served time in 2010 in the U.K. for multiple fraud charges related to hacking and gambling.
