- This marks a step forward in integrating the Facebook-developed Movement Virtual Machine (MoveVM) with Ethereum.
Blockchain firm Movement is preparing to launch its public mainnet in beta, advancing efforts to integrate the Movement Virtual Machine (MoveVM) with Ethereum.
The launch, scheduled for Monday, will debut with over $233 million in liquidity, including BTC, ETH, and the native asset MOVE, accumulated through Movement's Cornucopia program.
The Movement Network Foundation announced on Monday that its mainnet launch will enable smart contract deployment, allowing developers and users to build on the network for the first time.
Originally developed by Facebook for its now-defunct digital currency project, the Move programming language has since been adopted to power layer-1 networks like Sui and Aptos. Movement Labs has further expanded its application by using Move to develop an Ethereum layer-2 solution.
