XRP Drops 10% but All-Time High Recovery Still Possible, Says Bitpanda Executive
XRP has taken a sharp 10% dive in the past 24 hours, sparking concerns across the crypto community. The token, currently trading around $0.55, has slipped from recent highs, reflecting broader weakness in the altcoin market. However, according to a top executive from Austrian-based crypto platform Bitpanda, the path toward a new all-time high (ATH) for XRP remains open — despite the current volatility.
“It’s difficult to pinpoint exactly where XRP is heading in the short term,” the Bitpanda representative noted, “but reclaiming levels above its previous ATH is certainly not off the table.”
Market Overview: Regulatory Pressure and Investor Sentiment
XRP’s performance has historically been closely tied to its legal battles — especially the ongoing regulatory scrutiny from the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). Although Ripple Labs scored a partial legal victory in 2023, regulatory uncertainty still lingers, influencing both investor confidence and institutional adoption.
The recent sell-off appears to be part of a broader correction across the crypto market, with altcoins like Solana (SOL), Cardano (ADA), and Polkadot (DOT) also experiencing significant pullbacks. Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH), by comparison, have shown relative stability, maintaining key support zones near $66,000 and $3,400 respectively.
Is a Rebound Likely?
Despite the bearish short-term trend, analysts point to several bullish factors that could support a rebound:
-
Oversold RSI Levels: Technical indicators suggest XRP may be entering oversold territory, typically a sign that a relief rally could follow.
-
Ongoing Developments in Ripple’s Utility Projects: Ripple’s focus on expanding cross-border payment networks and central bank digital currency (CBDC) partnerships could renew market interest in the token.
-
Community and Whale Activity: On-chain data shows large wallet holders (whales) have begun accumulating again — often a precursor to price reversals.
Path to ATH: A Long Road Ahead?
XRP’s all-time high remains at $3.84, set during the 2018 bull cycle. Reclaiming or surpassing that level would require a massive shift in momentum — likely driven by either major legal clarity, breakthrough adoption, or a broader market bull run.
Still, Bitpanda’s executive maintains a cautiously optimistic outlook:
“XRP has proven its resilience time and again. If market conditions align, a retest of its previous highs is well within reach.”
While XRP’s current price drop is significant, it doesn’t necessarily mark the end of its bullish narrative. Traders and long-term holders alike will be watching closely to see if the token can stabilize and build toward a fresh upward leg. In the meantime, XRP remains a volatile yet intriguing asset in the evolving crypto ecosystem.
