Trump Media Plans $12B Share Offering Amid Crypto Push
Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG), the parent company of Truth Social, has filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to issue up to 84,657,181 shares of common stock, potentially raising up to $12 billion. This move follows a recent $2.44 billion fundraising deal aimed at establishing a corporate Bitcoin reserve.
The company has also filed for a Bitcoin exchange-traded fund (ETF), named the Truth Social Bitcoin ETF, in partnership with Crypto.com and Yorkville America Digital. If approved, the ETF will be listed on the NYSE Arca exchange.
This strategic shift into cryptocurrency and digital assets represents TMTG's effort to diversify its portfolio and reduce reliance on its social media platform, Truth Social, which has faced financial challenges. The proposed share issuance and Bitcoin ETF are part of a broader strategy to enhance the company's financial standing and market presence.
