Dogecoin, Cardano, and XRP Plunge Nearly 7% Amid Profit-Taking and Market Correction
Over the weekend, the cryptocurrency market experienced a significant downturn, with major altcoins such as Dogecoin (DOGE), Cardano (ADA), and XRP falling approximately 7%. This decline was part of a broader market correction, leading to a 5% drop in global market capitalization as traders engaged in profit-taking following a week-long rally.
🐕 Dogecoin (DOGE): Bearish Momentum Persists
Dogecoin's price declined by 20.1% over the past week, extending its monthly losses to 30.59%. Despite a recent 8% rebound from a weekly low of $0.22, the downward pressure remains. The Relative Strength Index (RSI) sits at 41, indicating attempts to recover from oversold conditions. However, the Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD) suggests weak bullish momentum. Resistance is near $0.28112, and support is at $0.26470. Analysts caution that a break below this support could lead to further declines.
🧠 Cardano (ADA): Downward Trend Continues
Cardano's ADA token has faced a rough couple of months, failing to break the $2 mark even after a rally. Predictions indicate continued corrective movement toward the lower bound of its descending channel. Medium-term support is positioned at $0.40, a level that could determine whether ADA extends its losses. Recent price data shows ADA/USD experiencing volatility, with a decline from $0.977 to $0.75 over the past month. Despite the pullback, technical indicators suggest mixed signals. The RSI remains elevated at 77.98, indicating that ADA bears haven’t pushed the barriers enough for selling pressure to grow.
🌊 XRP: Struggles with Resistance Levels
XRP has faced major rejections around $2.8 and $3 since February 1, and this week, the coin dropped below $2, then made a recovery. While the recovery indicates some demand, sellers have solidified their positions to push XRP downwards. Technical analysts warn that XRP must hold above $2.50 to avoid further declines. If the level fails, the next critical support zones lie at $2.00 and $1.61. On the upside, a reclaim of $2.70 could reignite bullish momentum.
📉 Market Overview
The global cryptocurrency market capitalization has declined by over $200 billion in the last seven days, with altcoins shedding more than $20 billion from their total valuations within the last 24 hours. Analysts attribute this downturn to factors such as profit-taking, macroeconomic concerns, and uncertainty in the regulatory environment. Despite the recent pullback, some investors maintain a "buy the dip" mentality, anticipating potential rebounds in the market.
