CoinShares Reports 26% AUM Increase to $3.46B in Q2 2025 Amid Crypto Market Surge

CoinShares, a leading European digital asset investment firm, has announced a 26% increase in its assets under management (AUM), reaching $3.46 billion by the end of Q2 2025. This growth is attributed to a significant rebound in cryptocurrency prices, with Bitcoin (BTC) appreciating 29% and Ethereum (ETH) rising 37% during the quarter .

Despite a $126 million outflow from its XBT Provider platform, primarily from Bitcoin certificates, CoinShares experienced a 34.2% increase in platform gross AUM, reaching a new all-time high of $3.5 billion in mid-August . This indicates that rising digital asset prices more than offset the outflows, contributing to the overall growth in AUM.

Financial Performance and Strategic Outlook

CoinShares reported a net profit of $32.4 million for Q2 2025, reflecting a 1.9% increase from the same period in the previous year. The firm's revenue streams included $30 million in asset management fees, $11.3 million in capital markets gains, and $7.8 million in treasury gains, resulting in an adjusted EBITDA of $26.3 million .

Looking ahead, CoinShares anticipates continued growth in the second half of 2025, driven by favorable market conditions and increasing investor interest in digital assets. CEO Jean-Marie Mognetti expressed confidence in the company's prospects, stating that the overall market activity sets the stage for a strong second half of the year

U.S. Market Expansion Plans

CoinShares is actively working towards expanding its presence in the United States. The company plans to transition from its Swedish listing to a U.S. listing, aiming to unlock substantial value for shareholders by entering a market with significant depth and investor interest in the digital asset sector .

Market Implications and Future Prospects

The surge in cryptocurrency prices, particularly the recent all-time highs of Bitcoin and Ethereum, has bolstered investor confidence in the digital asset market. Analysts remain optimistic about the potential for further price appreciation, with some predicting that Ether could reach $7,000 by the end of the year .

CoinShares' strong financial performance and strategic initiatives position the company well to capitalize on the growing demand for digital asset investment products. As the market continues to evolve, CoinShares' expansion into the U.S. market and its diversified revenue streams may provide a solid foundation for sustained growth and shareholder value.
